About Amy

Amy Kalyn Sims, a native of Florida, is a Professional Freelance Photographer and Yoga Instructor now living in Asheville, NC. She is a 2002 graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design with a double major in Photography and Graphic Design. She initially studied photography under David Woods, a renowned Florida photographer, and had her first solo photography show in 1997 at Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales, Florida. After a decade of living and working in Manhattan, Amy & her family decided to seek a quieter lifestyle back in the South. She is known for her fine art photography as well as her portrait, food, travel, interior, and still-life work. A series of her flashlight painting photographs were featured in a solo photography show as part of the 2009 soloNOVA Arts Festival in New York, NY. She continues to show her work in gallery shows in New York and around the United States. Amy is a 500 hour RYT and a graduate of the Laughing Lotus Yoga Grad School. She is eternally grateful for Yoga and to all of her teachers, friends, and loved ones for keeping her inspired everyday!
